The Future of Transatlantic Relations: Security, Policy and Technology

The title of the 54th Leangkollen Security Conference is: The Future of Transatlantic Relations: Security, Policy and Technology. This year's conference will take place on 4th-5th of February, with the first session being held in the distinguished Norwegian Nobel Institute, before moving on to Leangkollen Conference Centre right outside Oslo for the remaining four sessions.

We are delighted to announce that the Leangkollen Security Conference 2019 will be opened by Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Rose Gottemoeller, and Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ine Eriksen Søreide. Moreover, Nonresident Senior Fellow at Atlantic Council, August Cole, will also give a lecture on technology and geopolitics during the opening session.

Furthermore, we have the pleasure present Andrew A. Michta, Dean at George C. Marshall Europen Center for Security Studies, Mercy A Kuo, Columnist at The Diplomat and Member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Chairman of the Council of Foreign and Defense Policy and Research director of the Valdai Discussion Club, Espen Barth Eide, Member of the Norwegian Parliament (Labour Party), James Kirchick, journalist, Visiting Fellow at The Brookings Institution and author of The End of Europe: Dictators, Demagogues and the Coming Dark Age, Asle Toje, Member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Jørgen Møller, Professor of Political Science at Aarhus University, and Valentin Weber, DPhil Candidate in Cyber Security at the University of Oxford, who will all speak at the conference's first day.

The second day of the conference will be opened by State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, Tone Skogen. Moreover, August Cole, Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, Anja Dahlmann, International Security Associate at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, John-Mikal Størdal, Director General at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, Gjert Lage Dyndal, Deputy Head at NATO Strategic Analysis Capability, Christopher Coker, Professor at London School of Economics, Eva Nagyfejeo, Research Fellow at the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre at the University of Oxford, Paul Cornish, Director of Coracle Analysis and Chief Strategist at Cityforum Public Policy Analysis, and Per Martin Norheim-Martinsen, Associate Professor at the Norwegian Defenc University College, will speak during this day.
