Nobels Fredssenter

Nobels Fredssenter, Den Norske Atlanterhavskomité & World Kurdish Friendship Association - WKFA, welcome you to a highly relevant seminar about the war-torn region in the Middle East.

The battle for Mosul is ongoing with full force, forming part of an international coalition force against IS. But what happens in the region after IS' eventual fall? And what will the future bring for the Kurdistan Regional Government?

To reflect on these issues, we have invited:

• Vian Dakhil Saeed – member of the Iraqi parliament
• Hoshyar Siwaily – head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) Foreign Relations Office

Both speakers join us directly from Iraq with the latest updates from the field. We will also focus on the regional and international aspects.

Introductions will be given by Chalak Kaveh, who holds a PhD in history from the University of Oslo. He is currently working on a book about Kurdistan and will draw the backdrop of the night's debate.

Following the panel discussion, we will open up for questions from the audience. The seminar will be held in English and is free of charge!

Moderator will be Stig Arild Pettersen, a well-known journalist and podcast host (DuVerden!)
