NATO 2022 Strategic Concept
NATOs new strategic concept was adopted at the Madrid Summit in June 2022
The historical NATO summit in Madrid ended with the adoption of the new ‘Strategic Concept’. The document will have a key role for the alliance in its forming of policies to ensure the Member States’ security in the coming years.
The Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, describes the Strategic Concept in the following manner: “NATO’s new strategic concept is the blueprint for the alliance in a more dangerous and competitive world.”
The new concept manifest NATO’s core-values, provides a collective update on the security situation and states how the Alliance will prioritize and ensure the sustained security for its Member States.
