Ukrainian Dialogues
Indivisible Europe: Norwegian - Ukrainian
Dialogues on Euro-Atlantic Integration
The objective of the project is to strengthen
research networks on international relations between Ukraine and Norway, enhance
the capacity of Ukrainian NGOs to address and monitor national security
challenges, and to engage Ukrainian NGOs - especially young specialists - in a
broad dialogue on shared security challenges in wider Europe. The over-all aim
of the project will be to facilitate the transfer of competence and knowledge,
and to engage national NGOs in formulating current and future needs to address
questions of relevance for Ukraine.
To the extent that it is feasible, the project
will include contributions from other international actors. The project will be
coordinated with a related Danish project administered by DATA/ DIIS in order to
increase Nordic synergetic effects of the dialogue projects.
The project will be coordinated by the Norwegian
Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) in conjunction with NUPI resources and
the Norwegian Atlantic Committee (DNAK). NUPI is currently the Norwegian
national contact point for the umbrella of Ukrainian NGOs dealing with
transatlantic and security issues - the Civic League.
By engaging young people in discussions on the
future role of Ukraine in relation both to the EU, NATO and Russia, we hope to
increase the regional knowledge of the Euro-Atlantic structures as well as to
form the basis for an active civil society among primarily the youth in Ukraine.
